I don’t have many regrets, but I do have one that bugged me for a long time. I regret believing a professor who told me I wasn’t smart enough to take philosophy and then dropping out of his course. This happened when I went back to school after retiring from professional baseball. What a mistake that was! Well, I’ve been making it up by getting my own education.
The last book I read was called Tolerance (Tolerance: The Beacon on Enlightenment). Ann LoPrinzi’s grandson Alex is studying philosophy. He gave me a list of books to read. This one has the views of 40 philosophers during the period on freedom, equality, and human rights of the Enlightenment. It also showed me how great our Constitution is because it came out of this thinking.
What about my book? I keep telling my editor that my life will be complete when my book is done. (Is that why she’s still not finished…she’s keeping me alive?!)
Tell her not to worry, I’m in heaven, I don’t want to die!
Marty
I have Never met a more inspiring, kind, thoughtful man who’s attitude is consistently positive and motivating. Playing tennis and improving my skills are quite secondary to the pure delight it is to be in his company every week. Never do I take for granted how fortunate I am to be a part of Marty’s tennis legacy with the ladies at the Swamp. It’s hard to explain to people just what Marty brings to the court each and every time. I always tell him that the two hours on the court are the highlight of my week. Wishing him health and love to keep up his wonderful work on and off the court. I feel extremely fortunate and selfishly want him to be around forever! God bless Marty!
